French Alps Cycling Tour Operator Cyclomundo Offers Trips in its Backyard
French company provides European cycling experiences to all levels of experience with "Challenging Alps" and leisurely "Three-Lake Cycling" self-guided bicycle tours.
GAILLARD, FRANCE, January 08, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In 2012,French Alps cycling tour operator Cyclomundo will offer new guided and self-guided trips for veteran cyclists and amateurs alike. Those new trips include an addition to the company's famous "Challenging Alps" tour, which has a place on the life list of adventure cyclists worldwide.
As the only cycling tour operator based in the area, Cyclomundo is fast becoming the most respected name in French Alps cycling. Founded, owned and operated by native French cyclist Bruno Toutain, Cyclomundo provides novices and veteran cyclists alike intimate and memorable experiences along some of the best cycling routes in the world.
A world-class challenge made better
Cyclomundo has introduced a new tour this year in one of the most challenging and beautiful rides in European cycling. The company now offers self-guided tours from the legendary resort community of Alpe d'Huez to the city of Nice. This route can be combined with the company's existing six-day tour to Alpe d'Huez from Geneva, which was featured as an Outside Magazine Trip of the Year in 2011.
By combining these tours, cyclists can travel the entire "Route des Grandes Alpes," a challenging ride that includes climbs up world-famous cols like Colombiere, Aravis, Saisies, Madeleine, Telegraphe, Galibier, and Alpe d'Huez.
A softer, gentler ride
For groups or individuals new to cycling or active travel, Cyclomundo now offers one of the only leisure cycling tours in the Alps. Also based out of Geneva, the company's six-day Three-Lake Tour features the gentler side of French Alps cycling. Over the course of six days and five nights, the tour winds around Lake Geneva, Lake Bourget, and Lake Annecy. Much of the route follows the paths of the Rhone and Isere, so travelers will experience the historic villages and riparian ecosystems that surround these famous rivers.
The Cyclomundo philosophy
While Cyclomundo offers guided trips in France, Switzerland, Spain, and Italy, the company focuses on providing self-guided experiences. Before leaving, travelers are provided by Cyclomundo staff with detailed maps and itineraries, which outline not only the route but the best restaurants, shops, and historical sites along the way. There is no guide setting the pace on these trips, but travelers are never on their own. Cyclomundo staff act as an invisible partner of their clients' trips; they book hotel reservations, transport luggage, and are always available to help travelers who are lost or no longer willing to ride.
